Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So at Christmas I decided to follow the advice I give out to the kids we coach at rugby, that we do things on our terms. So this year I will be running the GNR to raise funds for a charity that really means a lot to me, the Macular Society. I can’t be a hypocrite and continue to be scared and struggle when I ask kids to be strong and do things on their terms.
This disease takes everything from you and it scares the crap out of me. It takes things from you that you never wanted to lose. The ability to read a book, greetings card, menu. It takes your driving licence, your hobbies and it gets you down. You can’t see faces clearly and get scared of the dark. It’s an invisible disability that affects 1.5 million people in the UK and as yet we have no cure. Well I’m not having that and I want to tell it that it’s fighting a battle it won’t win, I will not stop doing the things that keep me living #teammacular
