Story
The School Club Zambia was founded in 2011 (and became a UK charity in 2014) to tackle the severe lack of funding in rural schools. Many operate on less than £100 per term, meaning less than 50p per child each year.
To create lasting change, the charity supports schools to become financially independent through its Self-Financing Schools programme, helping them set up income-generating businesses.
These initiatives also provide vocational training, equipping young people with practical skills and new opportunities. Alongside this, School Club Zambia delivers programmes in literacy and girls’ education to ensure more children can learn and thrive.
