David and Daniel's fundraiser for The Lake District Calvert Trust

David Jackson is raising money for The Lake District Calvert Trust

Trig Top Trek

The Lake District Calvert Trust provides residential outdoor activity courses for people of all ages with physical, sensory, learning, behavioural and/or mental disabilities. Its mission is to challenge disability through outdoor adventure. Pioneering equipment adaptations, and intensive, instructor-led activity programmes (that include climbing, abseiling, canoeing, sailing, horse/trap driving, archery, orienteering and paragliding), provide an environment whose aims are to teach, challenge, motivate, engender confidence in ability, promote independence, and foster integration. All instructors are highly trained and specialist qualified, and the facilities are specially adapted and fully accessible to all. The Lake District Calvert Trust provides a unique and life-changing experience for those with disabilities, who are encouraged to believe that it’s what you CAN do that counts.

Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page.

In 2024, Lake District holiday park owners Daniel Holder and David Jackson came together to conquer all the Wainwrights in a year, raising money for CancerResearchUK. This achievement has inspired them to embark on a new adventure in 2026: the 'Trig Top Trek', where they aim to climb all the Trig Points in the breathtaking Lake District while raising money for the Lake District Calvert Trust.

The Calvert Trust is dedicated to providing outdoor adventure holidays and breaks for individuals with disabilities, along with their families and friends. They create an inclusive and supportive environment where everyone can experience the joy of outdoor activities such as canoeing, archery, and climbing. With specialized equipment and expert staff, participants are empowered to build confidence and independence in accessible countryside settings.

Trig points are iconic concrete pillars that stand tall on hilltops across the UK. Originally established by the Ordnance Survey, these markers play a crucial role in creating accurate maps that help surveyors measure angles and distances. By supporting our Trig Top Trek, you are not only helping us reach new heights but also ensuring that individuals with disabilities can enjoy life-changing experiences in nature.

We have set an ambitious target of £5,000 to support this vital charity. Your generous donations will directly benefit those who rely on the services provided by the Calvert Trust. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and secure; your details are safe with them as they never sell information or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, your contribution goes straight to the charity—making it the most efficient way to support this important cause.

Join us on this journey of empowerment and adventure! Together, we can make a difference in the lives of many individuals who deserve unforgettable experiences in nature.
