Malawi Period Poverty Appeal 2026

Trinity School is raising money for Hope4Malawi
Hope4Malawi works with government run primary and secondary schools in rural Malawi to improve learning environments and create opportunities for students to access education Through education and local empowerment, our hope is that local communities will develop and poverty will be reduced.

Story

Without access to sanitary items, many girls in Malawi miss school once a month, having an enormous impact on their education and the adult literacy rate amongst women.

We are working to provide girls in Hope Secondary School with period pants which are sustainable options both environmentally and economically. Period pants are underwear that girls can wear through their period and, as they are washable, they are completely sustainable, as they can be used again for the next monthly cycle. A pack of 5 period pants which, with washing at intervals, will accommodate a girl through her monthly cycle for the foreseeable future. It costs around £40 to buy enough packs to enable a girl to continue her schooling uninterrupted through a monthly cycle.

Thank you for your support.
