This year is going to be my final Great North Run and I've chosen to support Access the Dales, a smaller charity who fund all-terrain wheelchairs which are situated at various locations in the Dales - thus making the inaccessible accessible.

I'm fortunate that I'm able to take myself out into the countryside when I just need to escape and clear my head, let off steam or simply get some fresh air and a change of scenery. I can't imagine what would happen to me if I ever lost that ability. This is why I feel it's important to support charities like Access the Dales, whose work towards breaking down barriers to making access to the countryside will often go unnoticed - until one day, you or a loved one might need them.

Last year Access the Dales helped over 500 adults and children to achieve their dreams, rebuild their confidence and gain some independence by giving them that access to what was previously inaccessible. Please give generously so that this great charity will be able to help more people in the coming years.
