Please help me raise £25,000 for 2 wonderful charities - in return I will cycle 5,000kms climbing 50,000m along the way (5 times the height of Everest) ... ON MY Brompton !!! ... I will do it in 2 parts:
Part 1 - The Training Ride - Sept 25 - LeJog
Land's End to John o'Groats (LeJog) Sept 25... 2000kms (and 30,000m of climbing!!) from top to bottom of the UK
Part 2 - The Real Ride - June 26 - TransAfrica
TransAfrica June 2026 ... 3000 kms across Africa Namibia. Botswana, Eswatini and South Africa ...
The money will go to the wonderful charity Children with Cancer UK and to our beloved NHT.
Children with Cancer UK
Our vision is a world where every child and young person survives cancer. For 35 years, Children with Cancer UK has funded much needed research into the causes of childhood cancers, and the development of better, kinder treatments as well as funding initiatives that support children and their families through cancer treatment and beyond.Our work has contributed significantly to a marked increase in childhood cancer survival rates and improved quality of life for patients.
Newman Holiday Trust ("NHT")
Each year the NHT provides week long residential holidays for about 150 children with special needs aged 4 to 18 across the UK. Due to the high level of skilled care they require or financial circumstances, the children selected for these breaks would not otherwise receive a holiday. The respite it gives the families and the profound impact it has on the kids makes it an amazing week for all concerned. The NHT is an entirely voluntary organization and owes its success to over 200 people who dedicate their free time for free to helping these children and means that every penny raised goes directly towards a child's holiday.
