This charity has been nominated by Dean Freeman who is a Client Manager for True Potential Wealth Management.

Dean's Mum (Carol) was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2012 to which the cancer was treatable but not curable. She was in and out of remission throughout this time and underwent a wide variety of treatments to prolong her life expectancy, including a stem cell transplant and most recently some experimental trials at the Manchester Christie hospital.

Unfortunately, these treatments did not have the desired effect and last year Carol was told she had less than a year left to live. Throughout the final months she was looked after by the specialised Clatterbridge Cancer centre in Liverpool who provided palliative care and supported the family throughout this difficult time. This hospital is funded by a wide range of charities, including the Bloom Appeal who specialise on blood cancers in the Merseyside region.

The support that had been provided since 2012 has been second to none and as a result has meant that Carol far exceeded the expected lifespan and was able to see her two son`s grow up and share plenty of memories together. Until the very end Carol was able to enjoy family holidays, Primark and countless Gin & Tonics and was never one to allow the cancer to stop her enjoying the things she loved.
