Charity Tube Challenge · 27 May 2023

Our charity was set up to raise awareness of stomach cancer, to support the incredible research being undertaken in this area and to support families in the North London area who have received a cancer diagnosis.

Story

On 1 June I am doing the Tube Challenge which involves travelling through all 270 tube stations in a day. The world record was first set in 1960 and has been re-set every time the network has changed. The latest change was the addition of the Battersea PS branch of the Northern Line last year. No official record has been set for the Tube Challenge since then but Guinness World of Records have set it at a notional 16 hours 15 minutes. I doubt I will beat this as nobody has come close yet. However, getting through all 270 stations using nothing but scheduled public transport and on foot (it involves about 15k running) is a stiff challenge in itself. I am starting at Chesham at 5.16am and (hopefully) finishing at Heathrow T 5 around 11pm. The attached home made video shows the route I have devised.

Please give generously in memory of Vicky and to help raise awareness of gastric cancer!!
