Helen Richardson is raising money for Tumaini Jipya - New Hope

Climbing Mount Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) · 27 July 2026

We have 5 trustees and are registered in the UK. One of our trustees spend at least a month a year in Tanzania. All donations go directly to our projects in Tanzania. At present we are working on a large water project and an electricity project. We can facilitate sponsorship of children's education.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Goldy has been involved with our charity, Tumaini Jipya - New Hope for many years. She has seen the need and also the joy and gratitude of those we help, and has decided to do this climb not only as a fundraiser for us, but also as a personal goal.

We are registered in UK and Tanzania and carry out projects with communities in rural Masai areas for health, education, water and sanitation. We put in place the more expensive infrastructure they need so they can then take on the maintenance and expansion of projects themselves. It is important to us that communities keep their independence and do not just rely on help. We work with communities and ensure they have the skills to take things forward.

We have seen communities become more resilient, more motivated and more determined with the help we can give. They have moved from survival mode for searching for water and food, to having time to brighten up their communities and to set up groups to move the communities forward. Their health, education and knowledge have also improved. Unfortunately they do not have benefit systems and have to pay for access to medical care so many do not get the help they require.

Our work has included school hostels, health programmes run by doctors, water systems, toilets for schools, equipment for district hospitals and corrective surgery on children, as well as supporting children through education and any emergency supplies required.

Our trustees are all volunteers so all money donated, except for the small stationery costs, goes to our projects.

We really hope you can spare a little to donate towards Goldy's challenge. We are all very proud of her for tackling this.
