John was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in October 2024. He fought bravely for 14 months, taking everything that life threw at him in his stride; however, unfortunately he passed away very peacefully with his family beside him on 19th February 2026, after receiving amazing care from all the staff at Springhill Hospice, Rochdale.

In his honour, we have created this page to raise money for Springhill to ensure that they receive enough money to be able to keep giving extraordinary care and support to those who need it.

Springhill Hospice provides care & support to people with a life limiting illness & their loved ones. Springhill passionately believe that everyone should have access to the best care at the end of their lives. To help achieve this, their expert team work night and day in people’s homes and at the Hospice to offer specialist care, to everyone who needs it. Springhill also support people emotionally, provide practical information & help them maintain their independence and dignity.
