Story
We are taking part in the Twilight Walk in loving memory of Delia McCartan, who sadly passed away in January 2025 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Delia was first diagnosed in 2015 and, after undergoing treatment, went into remission in 2017. Sadly, the cancer returned in 2020. Through it all, she showed incredible strength, resilience, and grace.
Along the way, Marie Curie was a constant source of comfort and support — not just for Delia, but for our whole family. They helped lift her spirits with beauty therapy sessions, gave us practical guidance and emotional support, and provided compassionate nurses for at-home care. In her final months, they arranged hospice care and overnight sitters who brought peace and reassurance during the most difficult times.
Their care made an incredibly hard journey that little bit easier — and for that, we are forever grateful.
Now, we’re walking to honour Delia’s memory and to raise money so that other families facing terminal illness can receive the same kindness, dignity, and support that Marie Curie gave us. Every step we take is for her — and every penny raised will help Marie Curie continue their vital work.
Thank you so much for your support 💛
