Story
It’s not easy to say, but we are coming up to 10 years without Mum. What better way to remember her than by raising money for the charity that not only brought life to Mum’s last days but also gave us, as her children, a safe space to grieve and come to terms with losing her.
We have so much to be thankful for to Weston Hospicecare — so much so that I wanted to give back and started working as a fundraiser for the hospice myself. Until you step through the doors of a hospice, you never truly understand just how much it does for the community. At some point in our lives, everyone is touched by a hospice. It is vital that we stand together and do all we can to keep ours going.
With only 20% of its funding coming from the government, we need you amazing people by our side to help raise the rest.
So I had one thought and roped in my two younger brothers……..
My brothers and I have come together to make this journey mean even more to us. We are taking on our first half marathon together, training whenever we can around six children between us and our full-time jobs. Not only do we get to run side by side, but we also often chat about Mum while we’re running and laugh at the thought of her thinking we’re completely crazy.
Please help us through this and sponsor us to help carry our little legs over the finish line.
Our race May 10th in honour of losing mum 10 years ago.
Thank you to the doctors, nurses and family support team for everything you did for us back in 2016. It's our time to say thank you now.
Let the protein and electrolytes begin!
Receiving an end-of-life diagnosis can be difficult, not just for the patient but also for their loved ones. At Weston Hospicecare, our team of palliative care experts is dedicated to working together to provide specialist support. Our social, emotional, psychological, spiritual and physical care helps guide people through one of the most difficult experiences they will ever face. With only 20% of our funding coming from the NHS, we have to raise £5.5 million each year to fund our care - something that's only made possible by our community.
