At Dig Deep, we believe everyone has a fundamental right to clean water, safe toilets and good hygiene through the achievement of UN Sustainable Development Goal 6. We work in Bomet County, Kenya, home to 1 million people and one of the most underserved and least resourced areas of the country.

Story

Hi! My name is Tyler Hunter, and this year, I am taking on the incredible challenge of running the Edinburgh Marathon to raise money for Dig Deep Africa, a charity dedicated to providing clean water, safe toilets, and better hygiene for some of Kenya’s poorest communities. By supporting Dig Deep, I am not only contributing to life-changing projects that improve health and education and break the cycle of poverty, but I am also working towards another incredible goal—climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Dig Deep organises this unique opportunity for participants to fundraise while preparing for the Kilimanjaro climb, combining personal achievement with meaningful impact.

Every step I take in training for the Edinburgh Marathon brings me closer to both the summit of Kilimanjaro and to helping Dig Deep create sustainable change in Kenya. This challenge is about more than just personal endurance; it’s about making a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most. Any support, whether through donations or spreading my page to friends and family, will help me reach my fundraising goal, help me successfully reach the summit, and contribute to Dig Deep’s mission of transforming lives.
