CYMRAEG ISOD
The Canton Milers
More commonly sighted in their natural habitat of a Cardiff beer garden, the Canton Milers are (temporarily) deserting their safe and secure surroundings to run the sobering distance of 13.1 miles. Why? For a *very* good, local cause. The team have set an ambitious target of raising £500 each for UCAN Productions, a Cardiff-born charity that changes the lives of visually impaired young people through creative arts (read more about UCAN below).
Show your support for Emma Takle, Mali Evans, Luke & Daniel O'Reilly (not technically brothers) and Tom/Snowy Russell-Jones on their familiar yet unfamiliar expedition to the Cardiff Half finish line by sponsoring them today!
Disclaimer: Luke is actually more commonly seen in the gym or out walking his sausage (dog) called Mash (get it) than sinking pints, but his running joints are still a bit rusty!
About UCAN
UCAN Productions is a performance and creative arts charity for blind and partially sighted children/young people/adults and their friends
Sadly, not all blind or partially sighted children realise their full potential. This is almost always down to a lack of opportunity and the ability to self advocate.
UCAN works very hard to address both these challenges. Firstly by making sure there are regular creative activities that children and young people with sight loss can attend, and also by providing peer-led activities specially designed and delivered by the young people themselves.
Over the years UCAN has helped 100's of children and young people with sight loss have fun, make long lasting friendships and many have gone onto higher education and employment. With your help we can continue to deliver activities and train UCAN members to share their skills and their knowledge of living with sight loss to their young peers.
Milltirwyr Treganna
Yn fwy cyffredin i’w gweld yn eu cynefin naturiol, sef gardd gwrw yng Nghaerdydd, mae Milltirwyr Treganna yn gadael eu hamgylchedd saff a diogel (dros dro) i redeg y pellter sobreiddiol o 13.1 milltir. Pam? Am achos lleol *da iawn*, . Mae’r tîm wedi gosod targed uchelgeisiol o godi £500 yr un ar gyfer UCAN Productions, elusen a aned yng Nghaerdydd sy’n newid bywydau pobl ifanc â nam ar eu golwg trwy’r celfyddydau creadigol (darllenwch fwy am UCAN isod).
Dangoswch eich cefnogaeth i Emma Takle, Mali Evans, Luke a Daniel O'Reilly (nid brodyr yn dechnegol) a Tom/Snowy Russell-Jones ar eu taith gyfarwydd ond anghyfarwydd i linell derfyn Hanner Caerdydd trwy eu noddi heddiw!
Ymwadiad: Mewn gwirionedd mae Luke i’w weld yn fwy cyffredin yn y gym neu allan yn cerdded ei gi selsig o’r enw Mash na yfed peintiau, ond mae ei gymalau rhedeg yn dal braidd yn rhydlyd!
Am UCAN
Mae UCAN Productions yn elusen perfformio a chelfyddydau creadigol ar gyfer plant/pobl ifanc/oedolion dall a rhannol ddall a’u ffrindiau.
Yn anffodus, nid yw pob plentyn dall neu rannol ddall yn gwireddu eu llawn botensial. Mae hyn bron bob amser oherwydd diffyg cyfle a'r gallu i hunaneirioli.
Mae UCAN yn gweithio'n galed iawn i fynd i'r afael â'r ddwy her hyn. Yn gyntaf trwy sicrhau bod yna weithgareddau creadigol rheolaidd y gall plant a phobl ifanc â nam ar eu golwg eu mynychu, a hefyd trwy ddarparu gweithgareddau dan arweiniad cyfoedion sydd wedi'u cynllunio a'u cyflwyno'n arbennig gan y bobl ifanc eu hunain.
Dros y blynyddoedd mae UCAN wedi helpu cannoedd o blant a phobl ifanc sydd wedi colli eu golwg i gael hwyl, gwneud cyfeillgarwch hir dymor ac mae llawer wedi mynd ymlaen i addysg uwch a chyflogaeth. Gyda'ch cymorth chi gallwn barhau i gyflwyno gweithgareddau a hyfforddi aelodau UCAN i rannu eu sgiliau a'u gwybodaeth am fyw gyda cholled golwg â'u cyfoedion ifanc.
