UCEM's fundraiser for No 5 Young People

Kathy Matthews is raising money for No 5 Young People

UCEM 23-25

No5 Young People are developing Reading Young People's Hub - a much needed drop-in, centralised safe space where young people can access all of the information, advice and support they need, under one roof.

Story

UCEM has chosen No5 as our designated charity for two years (2023-25)

Mental health and wellbeing support for all young people across Greater Reading has been No5s priority since first opening in 1971. Over the years, our service has expanded and adapted to the ever-changing needs of young people. Today our service includes 1:1 counselling in central Reading, in 6 local schools, online and over the phone, as well as group support, outreach, mental health education and creative expressive wellbeing projects.

At No5, we support over 1,500 young people and their families every year through a range of counselling and outreach services. However, with the ever-increasing number of young people asking for support with their mental health, we are now looking to open Reading Young Peoples Hub - a drop-in, centralised safe space where young people can access all of the information, advice and support they need, under one roof.

All of the funds raised will directly support the development of the Hub over the coming year!
