Baggage is a short film produced by a passionate, talented and committed team of women, trans and non-binary creatives. As a UCL Film and TV Society GendFilm production, it provides an opportunity for people previously underrepresented in the film industry to develop their skills and tell original stories that are not heard often enough.

As our writer Diana puts it… ‘Your life is dictated by the Baggage which you carry. For Lydia and Anna, this just happens to be a big black suitcase with a dead body inside it. I wrote Baggage based on my best friends, who I have never doubted would help me hide a body. For myself, Lydia and Anna life doesn't always seem as straightforward as it should be. When you're working class, a person of colour or queer, life feels like one big trap. It feels like walking out of a store feeling like you stole something or anxiety at airport security for a bomb inside your bag which doesn't exist. Your life is dictated by the Baggage which you carry. For Lydia and Anna, this just happens to be a big black suitcase with a dead body inside.’

The funds you help us raise will contribute towards hiring equipment, location, set and props. It will also cover our crew’s expenses as they are giving us their time and talent for free! Finally, we hope to submit the film to festivals, to make the most of everyone’s hard work and your contributions and ensure this wonderful and wacky story reaches the largest audience possible.
