UCL Film Society: GendFilm 2025

GendFilm is here for its third year, and we need your support to preserve this vital part of UCL’s Film and TV Society!
GendFilm is a groundbreaking project by UCL FilmSoc that empowers non-binary and women filmmakers by offering them the chance to shine in the world of short film production. It’s more than just a creative outlet; it’s a movement to drive change in an industry still grappling with gender inequality.
Despite recent awareness surrounding gender issues in film, the statistics are stark: in 2023, women comprised 22% of directors, writers, producers, executive producers, editors, and cinematographers working on the top 250 grossing films (The Celluloid Ceiling, 2023). Furthermore, non-binary representation is largely unreported, leaving a significant gap in opportunities for marginalised groups. GendFilm is here to change that.
By funding GendFilm 2025, you're helping us create a safe, inclusive space where women and non-binary people can thrive behind the camera. With your contribution, we can offer a supportive community and provide vital resources to these filmmakers, enriching the diversity of the stories we tell. By donating, you are part of the movement of women in film, fostering inclusivity, breaking down barriers, and building a more equitable future for the film industry. Let's create the change together!
