UCL Tennis for Alzheimer's Society

UCL Tennis is raising money for Alzheimer's Society

Tennis Tournament

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

At UCL Tennis, we’ve always believed that our club is more than the sport. It’s the people who bring life to every session, every rally, and every match. This winter, we wanted to take that same sense of community and extend it beyond our courts.

We’re raising funds for Alzheimer’s Society, an organisation that supports people living with dementia and the families who care for them. Dementia doesn’t just slowly take memories. It takes moments, conversations, independence, and the small pieces of someone that make them who they are. And behind every person living with dementia is a family trying to hold those pieces together.

Many of us in the club have seen loved ones struggle with this illness. We’ve watched parents become carers, grandparents become strangers to themselves, and families try to navigate something no one should go through alone.

Alzheimer’s Society is there for those families. They provide guidance when everything feels overwhelming, support when things get heavy, and hope through research and advocacy. They give people living with dementia the dignity, patience, and compassion they deserve.

This week, as we come together for our Charity Tournaments, we play not just for scores or rallies but for every family carrying this weight and for every person trying to hold onto their memories a little longer.

If you’re able to donate, whether it’s £1 or £10, it genuinely makes a difference. Every contribution goes directly to helping families access support services, helplines, carers, community programmes, and vital research.

Thank you for being part of our community, for showing up, for supporting each other, and for choosing to stand with us in this cause.

Let’s finish this term by making a real impact together. Every pound is a piece of hope for someone who needs it!
