UCOMM is your good companion in situations of loneliness. It is a ‘backup’ or ‘place to run to’ in case you have a problem or need help. UCOMM is a non-profit charity organisation who’s beneficiaries are mainly of BME origin, primarily but not exclusively persons of Ugandan descent, and their families now living in Greater Manchester. We aim to promote their general well-being, enable them to integrate and participate in the British way of life, relieve financial hardship, promote good health, advance education, and provide facilities for recreation in the interest of social welfare.
UCOMM has carried out an array of support projects including:
• Help in Crisis Foodbanks
• Education & Recreation – Providing learning resources and community activities ranging from health awareness sessions, education sessions,
• Women and Girl Sessions - Developmental meetings to uplift and encourage other women and girls to achieve their aspirations.
• The Great Tackle – Football sessions for deprived family & community bonding
• Health Awareness
• Mental Health Zoom Support Sessions
• Funeral Support
• COVID 19 Rescue Project
