Story
Last year, Mick and Paul cycled 948 miles from John O'Groats to Lands End in 9 days and raised a staggering amount of money for The British Heart Foundation and this year we will both be hitting the road again.
On the 2nd Sept we will set off from Big Ben in London, cycle to New Haven and catch a ferry to Dieppe, from there our route will take us through Paris, Reims, Luxembourg, Leige, Dusseldorf, Arnhem, Amsterdam and The Hague where we will catch another ferry back to Harwich and hopefully all going well we will finish back at Big Ben on the 13th Sept.
The complete road route of cycling will total 1,034 miles which is 86 miles more than last years charity bike ride but of course we had to go bigger and better for 2023 plus travelling through different countries will prove very challenging.
We have chosen this charity again because one of our members in UK Cloud Magnets called Chris Ratcliffe died 4 years ago of heart failure and also one of our youngest member's Millie Healey (otherwise known as Millie The Miracle) was born with a congenital heart defect who now at the age of 12 has undergone 4 open heart surgical procedures.
Neither of us are professional cyclists although we both enjoy the fun and fitness involved with endurance road cycling.
I will have a Live Tracker fitted to my bike so that people can follow our journey in real time which will become active on the 2nd Sept when we set off from London.
Once again we will be cycling totally unsupported throughout the entire journey and your generous donations will keep our wheels turning freely.
Thank you all in advance for your donations.
Mick & Paul.
