Story
This August, myself and Paul will be cycling 760 miles across the UK over 9 days to raise awareness and funds for WAGR syndrome, a very rare genetic condition affecting less than 30 children and their families in the UK.
This challenge is inspired by George and his family from Seaford, as well as all the other children and families affected by this condition. Their journey has highlighted just how little awareness exists, and I want to help shine a light on something many people have never heard of. The ride will help raise awareness, support families affected by WAGR syndrome, and raise funds for the International WAGR Syndrome Association.
Leigh and Paul will be:
* Cycling an average of 70–80 miles per day (Longest day 123 Miles)
* Visiting 14 planned stops across the UK, including WAGR-related locations
* Sharing daily updates throughout the journey
* Posting photos and progress from key points along the route
We’d love people to get involved along the way:
* Send in motivational songs to be added to a WAGR training playlist
* Join a training ride — we’re looking to organise regular group sessions in the lead-up
