Tour de Midlands for CALM

Steve Grice is raising money for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably)

Stoke to Coventry bike ride · 29 July 2026

UKSE are joining the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) in their movement against suicide, the leading cause of death for 125 people every week in the UK and the single biggest killer of men under 50 and young people in the UK.

Story

On July 29th, we are planning to ride from Stoke-on-Trent in the North of our region, to Coventry in the South. The total distiance is around 65 miles. We are raising funds for CALM, the UKSE Charity of the year.

As part of UKSE, Mike and Steve are supporting the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) who are taking a stand against suicide. That means standing against feeling rubbish, standing up to stereotypes, and standing together to show life is always worth living.

125 lives are lost every week to suicide. Suicide is now the leading cause of death for people aged 15-39, and men under the age of 50 in the UK. CALM exists to change this.

CALM do it by provoking conversation, running life-saving services, and bringing people together so they reject living miserably, get help when they need it and don't die by suicide.
