Story
On October 12th 2024 My Nan passed away at age 80.
She believed if you could be anything in this life, then you should be kind. Which is why she treat everyone she ever met like family, was loved by so many people & why shopping trips in Whitehaven use to take hours & hours, because she would speak to everyone like they were long lost family.
Before I was born she lost one of her sisters to breast cancer & had a battle with it herself which she won.
In her diary she expressed her appreciation for the support Hospice at Home gave her & her sister during their battles with breast cancer.
Thanks to the help & support the charity gave her I got to have 26 years filled with love, lessons & support from my Nan. That without their support I might not have been lucky enough to have had.
Which is why on her birthday this year I will be running an 80 mile ultramarathon in Cumbria in memory of those 80 incredible years of life she had filled with love to raise money for Hospice at Home.
To help fund the amazing work they do & support they give to people in West Cumberland & hopefully help give someone the extra time with their family I was lucky enough to have with my Nan.
