Story
I am raising money as part of my volunteering trip with Project Care Volunteering to support transformational education projects for disadvantaged young people in Bhuj. Although I will be spending two weeks working directly with the school, I recognise that meaningful and lasting change goes far beyond short-term volunteering. The charity, founded in 2022 (and previously operating in partnership with another organisation from 2012–2022), has coordinated over 20 group trips and raised more than £115,000 to fund vital projects such as classrooms, playgrounds, sanitation facilities, toilets, and kitchens.
I am choosing to take part in this project because I believe every child deserves access to quality education and safe learning environments, regardless of their background. By fundraising as well as volunteering my time, I can help provide the school with improved resources, better facilities, and greater opportunities for its students. This experience is not only about giving back, but about being part of something bigger — supporting sustainable development, empowering young people through education, and contributing to long-term positive change within the community.
