We’re Climbing for Life – and for Hope
This November, we – Darren Lloyd, Helen Colton and George Lloyd from United UK – will be taking part in the Climb of Life in the Lake District to raise vital funds for the Institute of Cancer Research (ICR).
The Climb of Life is no ordinary challenge – it brings together teams from across the UK workplace supplies and business community to tackle some of the Lake District’s toughest peaks, all in the name of funding life-saving cancer research.
This year, we’re not climbing alone – Andrea Lloyd (Darren’s wife), Steve Colton (Helen’s husband), Kate O'brien (a close friend) and even Doris the dog will be joining us on the challenge!
For us, this is deeply personal.
In July this year, Darren lost his beloved sister, Gemma (George aunt), after a short and courageous battle with cancer, leaving behind a devastated family who miss her every single day.
Helen’s dad passed away from cancer in 2013, and in 2023 she lost a close friend, also named Helen, to the same cruel disease.
Cancer touches almost every family, and we want to do our part to fight back. The work that the Institute of Cancer Research is doing is vital – pioneering research that improves treatments, saves lives, and brings us closer to a world where fewer families have to suffer the pain of losing someone they love.
This challenge is tough, but not as tough as what those battling cancer face every day.
If you’re able, please support us by donating whatever you can. Every pound raised will help fund the ICR’s incredible work and bring hope to families like ours.
