Story
Anyone who knows me knows that I am so passionate about education. I believe that it's the most important tool for self-growth, social mobility and improving the world. It's a right that every single child deserves, yet so many around the world don't have access to.
Which is why I'm running the Brighton 10k (eeeeep!!) to raise money for one of my favourite charities in the whole world.
4 years ago, I got to witness their work in action. United World Schools help build and maintain schools in under-resourced regions, particularly in Cambodia, a country where the education system was ravaged by the Khmer Rouge regime.
I deeply respect UWS because their work is rooted in the local: from training and hiring teachers within the community, to ensuring that the charities' workforce are locals on the ground who can build through a long-term perspective, as opposed to just quick-fix solutions. Parents in under-resourced communities were desperate for UWS to build schools in their region because their reputation was that good. Students spoke with such gratitude for the opportunities that UWS offered them. UWS genuinely change so many lives through education and I am beyond thrilled to support them.
If you have any change to spare, want to give me a belated birthday gift (!), or want to bless yourself with some extra good karma (don't we all), I would be so honoured if you donate to my fundraiser and undoubtably help impact more children's lives.
Thank you so so so so much. If you give even £1, I will send you the biggest virtual hug and blessings of infinite casual magic your way! You are simply WONDERFUL <3
With love,
Jade
