Story
UWC Sudan National Committee (NC) helps exceptional Sudanese young people access a life changing education at United World Colleges (UWC), a global movement making education a force to unite people, nations, and cultures for peace and a sustainable future.
This year, we are selecting eight students to join UWC schools. But selection is only the beginning. We stay alongside students as they prepare to travel, arrive, and settle into a new academic and cultural environment.
The challenge: beyond the scholarship
Many students receive generous scholarships, but these are rarely fully inclusive. Practical, unavoidable costs can still prevent a student from taking up their place.
Since the war began, securing basic documentation and travel paperwork has become harder, slower, and more expensive. A passport, a visa appointment in another country, or a flight at short notice can become a real barrier for families.
Your support helps students focus on learning, not logistics.
A simple goal with big impact: unlock an extra £750
We are building a Community Association so we can support students more reliably and plan ahead. We are looking for 10 Founding Community Members to commit to a monthly donation. Reaching this goal will unlock an Incentive Award of £750 from the UWC International Office, adding an immediate boost to student support.
Choose a monthly tier
Tier 1: $10 per month
Tier 2: $15 per month
Tier 3: $30 per month
Tier 4: Choose your own monthly amount

A monthly commitment, even a small one, creates a steady base of support and helps us respond quickly when a student faces urgent costs.
What your support helps cover
- Your contribution directly supports the non tuition costs that scholarships often do not cover, including:
- Documentation and visas: passport fees, visa applications, required paperwork
- Travel and arrival: travel to visa centres, flights, and essential travel support
- Essentials for learning and daily life: laptops, calculators, required supplies, and pocket money for day to day needs
- Other required costs: deposits and mandatory fees linked to transition and study
Where the funds go
All donations are held in UWC Sudan’s sub account managed by the UWC International Office in London, and used directly for student support.
