My name is Nigel Bigby, owner-operator of local moving provider Busy Bee Movers in Ottawa, Ontario. I will be participating in the upcoming November 10th Charity Boxing Event in Ottawa, hosted by Ultra White Collar Boxing (UWCB). Ultra White Collar Boxing is a unique opportunity for people with no boxing background to experience the world of boxing, and raise money for charity.
Now more than in recent times, people are struggling to make ends meet, and affordable housing is becoming more out of reach by the day for many Canadians. As a moving business owner, I've seen firsthand the struggles that women are currently facing to find affordable housing. That's why I've chosen to participate in the UWCB Charity Boxing Fundraiser in Ottawa, to raise funding for Cornerstone Housing for Women.
Cornerstone Housing for Women helps over three hundred women in Ottawa every day, and nearly seven hundred women each year transform their lives. From crisis; to hope, housing, and healing. Cornerstone is the only Ottawa shelter and housing charity uniquely tailored to women that have experienced homelessness. As a non-profit organization, by addressing complex and ongoing social inequities by providing shelter and housing, ongoing financial support is needed. Cornerstone offers emergency shelter and supportive housing at five locations. They also offer an Outreach Program, and a Spiritual Care Program.
