Story
We are the Black Cockerel Collective, a dedicated team of 10 mixed ability and agility Serving Personnel stationed at RAF Brize Norton within the Engineering Maintenance Section of XXIV Sqn. United by purpose and passion, we are preparing to take on the RAFA V50 Challenge from Monday 27 April 2026 to Sunday 3 May 2026. Our goal is to complete over 50 miles during this week through walking, swimming, cycling, running, and even paddling if the weather allows.

This challenge is more than just a physical feat; it is a powerful opportunity to raise awareness and vital funds for the RAF Association. Since its inception in 2020, the RAFA V50 Challenge has inspired over 2,500 participants worldwide to raise more than £142,000 in support of those who serve and have served. Now it’s our turn to carry that torch forward.
We humbly ask for your support in this mission. Whether you can spare a donation towards our target of £500 or simply share our story with your network, every gesture counts. If you see us out sporting our T-shirts during event week, please give us a wave—your encouragement fuels our determination.
Join us in making a difference. Together we can honor service, inspire hope, and strengthen community through every mile we cover. Support #TeamRAFA and help us reach our goal for RAFA: V50 2026.
