Flour Power: 3 Vail Williams Colleagues, 10Km Zero Excuses.
On Sunday 12th April, three slightly nervous but highly determined colleagues will be taking on the Brighton & Hove 10K — not just for the finish-line medal or bragging rights as to who came first of the three, but for Bramber Bakehouse.
Training has involved early alarms, windy seafront runs, questionable stretching techniques, blisters and managing ailments. There have been moments of “why did we sign up for this?”
But this 10K is about more than sore legs.
Why Bramber Bakehouse?
Bramber Bakehouse supports women who have experienced homelessness, trauma, exploitation and the criminal justice system. Through its social enterprise bakery, the charity provides:
• Training and real work experience
• Practical baking and employability skills
• Mentoring and confidence-building support
• A safe, supportive pathway towards long-term employment
It’s not just about baking bread — it’s about rebuilding independence, stability and self-belief.
Every donation helps fund training placements, equipment, specialist support and the safe environment that makes lasting change possible. The impact goes far beyond the bakery door.
