Hi all I’m Dan Watson and I’m taking part in the fantastic Knutsford Great Race - on a PENNY-FARTHING BICYCLE.

I have never ridden one before! However, I have been practising since 14 August - which gives me less than 28 days to perfect it 😳😳.

The Great Race is a test of skill, endurance and perhaps most of all bravery. All types of riders take part, from novices to serious racers. Some wear lycra, others tweed, so whether it's a need for speed or just an excuse to dress up, there's something for everyone - please come along and cheer me on.

I will be competing for the coveted Stockdale trophy, which will be awarded to the racer who completes the most laps in 3 hours.
