RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

Cllr Carys Stallard, Cllr Emma Goodjohn & Kanishka Narayan MP will be walking the stunning Heritage Coastal Path in the Vale of Glamorgan. Starting at Aberthaw and finishing at Porthcawl. This walk is not just to raise money for 2 fantastic charities that are crucial to safety along our coastlines (RNLI & National Coastwatch) but will also be to showcase our beautiful Heritage coastline and many of the businesses and places of interest along the way. Cllr Stallard & Cllr Goodjohn are Chair & Vice Chair of the Glamorgan Heritage Coast Advisory Commitee for the Vale of Glamorgan Council. Jane Hutt MS will also be joining the walk at various times.

National Coastwatch looks out for people in difficulties along the coast, our 2,500 volunteer Watchkeepers maintain a visual, radar and radio lookout from almost 60 Stations.

They report to the UK Coastguard and work with other Emergency Services to help a timely and effective rescue for boaters, kayakers, swimmers, fishermen and hikers.

They are entirely funded by donations, any amount will be gratefully received and put to good use.
