Story
As a child, I was given the book "My Life with the Chimpanzees" by Jane Goodall. This book, along with my Saturday mornings spent watching the German TV series "Unser Charly," a series about a veterinarian family with a pet chimpanzee (!) left me with a passion for animals and conservation. While I may have outgrown my childhood dream of having a chimpanzee as a pet, my admiration for Jane Goodall's work has stayed. Only recently, I watched the documentary on her "Jane“ (see trailer here: https://youtu.be/FRlUJrEUn0Y?si=f_pSKiWzaakKvg0j ) which reignited my interest in her work of environmental and conservation protection.
In search of a meaningful cause to support, I have chosen to stand with the Jane Goodall Institute UK (JGI UK) and its mission. As I prepare for my personal adventure in the Gaucho Derby 2026 on February 14, 2026, I am determined to raise awareness and funds for this incredible organization. JGI UK is dedicated to advancing Dr. Jane Goodall's vision and work, helping animals, people, and the environment in both the UK and Africa since 1988.
The institute supports community-led conservation projects and chimpanzee sanctuaries in countries like the Republic of Congo, Senegal, South Africa, and Uganda. It also empowers young people in the UK to spread hope through action. Together, we can make a difference!
I kindly ask for your support in reaching my fundraising goal of 1 000 EUR for JGI UK. Your contribution will help continue this vital work that benefits both wildlife and communities alike. Thank you for joining me on this journey to create a brighter future for our planet!
