The Northern team at Loreal Professionnel are getting together to remember one of our truly great educators and a dear friend that sadly lost her battle with cancer after 18 months of being diagnosis.

Mai was diagnosed during her pregnancy with a rare form of cancer, Mummy's star supported Mai, her loving husband Jack and their baby girl Ruby throughout her courageous battle with this dreadful disease.

Those that knew Mai would agree that she was beautiful inside and out a true friend that was full of laughter, fun and wisdom, she loved life, music and getting out and about, travelling, camping but most of all her family. Mai was infectious you wanted to be around her, she had great energy was full of life even when she was so poorly she still had humour and that glint in her eye.

'Mai' Sukuna Holland passed on January 2nd 2022 at the age of 38.

We are a team of 10 walking a challenging 11 mile route around Rothbury, with a mixture of cross country and fell/moor walking in memory of Mai and hoping to raise awareness of this fantastic charity that supported her and her family.

Mummy's Star is the only charity in the UK and Ireland dedicated to supporting women and birthing people who are diagnosed with cancer in or around pregnancy.

Your donation means these families can reach Mummy's Star and their specialised support. This includes emotional support for mums and parents, connecting families with others in a similar position, offering small grants to relieve the financial burden of cancer, supporting partners and family, promoting awareness, and providing training in cancer and pregnancy.
