Vanessa's fundraiser for Scientific Exploration Society

Doing it for Pam
Hi everyone, thank you for visiting this page and for donating towards my big hike and Mum's charity, the Scientific Exploration Society.
Back in her early 20s, our amazing Mum helped set this charity up and now has a grant in her name. Since we lost her in 2018, my sister Kate and I have been trying to keep this grant going with various fundraising events. The money that we raise goes towards funding expeditions which are led by young people and focus on discovery, research and conservation in remote corners the world. Her grant is called the SES Explorer Award for Inspirational & Scientific Trailblazing.
The Coleridge Way is a walk dedicated to the poet Coleridge and crosses North Somerset and North Devon / The Quantocks and Exmoor - it covers 51 miles and 2700 meters of hills! Myself and a handful of adventurer friends have planned to walk this over 4 days next week. It's a walk I've always wanted to do and thought it would be a great opportunity to try and raise a few extra pennies for Mum's grant with the SES.
Any donation you can spare will be hugely appreciated and will not only make Kate and I really happy and proud this Mother's Day, but will also enable awesome young people to have fantastic adventures overseas and do great things in the name of exploration and conservation.
