Vanessa's 500 Mile Challenge - before the end of 2024

Green Hub is a charity in Surrey supporting teens (10-18) facing social, emotional & mental health challenges: We do this via our social therapeutic garden programme - Green Teens - which focuses on improving teen mental wellbeing, as well as supporting parents with our monthly Parent Hub.

Story

I've had a bunch of heart issues over the last 5 years, along with several hospital procedures, and I need to get myself back to fitness. Knowing me as I do, I'm far better at doing that once I have armed myself with a) a graphic, b) a spreadsheet with loads of stats, and c) the risk of public humiliation if I don't get there! And that's where you come in.

I got started on 5th October, and plan to cycle 500 miles - that's about 40 miles a week - before the year end. All with the aid of my amazing trusty e-bike. Don't be fooled - it's easier than my old road bike for sure, but it's still a great workout!

Help me raise some valuable funds for charity..

As many of you know, I'm passionate about the charity I started with my dear friend, Tone Tellefsen Hughes, 3 years ago - The Green Hub Project for Teens. So it makes perfect sense for me to raise money for that while I'm slogging up and down Surrey's many hills.

Your help will be HUGELY appreciated, not only giving me the incentive to stay on track, but also to help me make a difference to young people struggling with anxiety.

Thank you. Vanessa :)
