We’re taking on the Soapbox Challenge — a high-energy, crowd-cheering, slightly bonkers event where teams design and build their own soapbox carts and then launch them down a giant ramp at full speed! Think creativity, costumes, chaos, laughter and a whole lot of adrenaline… all for an amazing cause.

The event is free and open to the public, so everyone can come along and be part of the fun. It’s happening on Sunday 10th May, with the first cart flying down the ramp at 11am — and trust us, you’ll want to see it.

We’re doing all of this to raise money for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, who support babies, children and young people with serious and complex conditions, and care for families through some of the hardest moments imaginable. Their work is filled with compassion, dignity and kindness, and it means everything to the families who rely on them.

Rainbows is a local charity to us, and with many of our team being parents, supporting families in our own community feels incredibly personal. At Venture Play, we believe deeply in creating spaces where children can experience joy, freedom and connection — so supporting Rainbows feels like a natural extension of what we do every day.

So we’re building a cart, pushing our nerves aside, and throwing ourselves down a ramp for something that truly matters.
