Story
I'm taking part in Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity's Ready, Set, GOSH - The Challenge.
I wanted to be more honest as to why I’m raising funds for GOSH..
Growing up I was very conscious about my Port Wine birthmark on my face. Struggling with my confidence and having a hard time time at school, my doctor referred me to GOSH. They provided me with laser treatment, I remember wearing a hat home as it looked like someone had drawn on my face with a sharpie ☺️ For some people it’s not a big deal but at the time I was young and it bothered me, I still have my birthmark now, although it’s lighter, I’m older and to be honest I kind off like it 💕
My sister is also a nurse at GOSH and provides lifelong care to children living with EB, Epidermolysis bullosa is rare skin condition which causes blisters and sores on the skin. It also effects the inside of their bodies too, The blistering and sores can be extremely painful. In some forms of EB, the wounds leave scars so the work my sister does is vital in keeping their wounds clean and providing support to the family’s.
We will be at the British Grand Prix in July shaking our buckets (and card machines!) with the rich and famous to top up our totals….😌
Thank you so much for taking time to read my story x
