Story
In September 2021, my life took an unexpected and harrowing turn. My partner (Artur Dymko) noticed an unusual thickening of the skin around my breast, which after initial review by GP prompted referral to breast clinic and need for biopsy. The results were our worst fear realized: I had breast cancer. The subsequent operation revealed a grade 3 tumor that had already spread to one of my lymph nodes.
This diagnosis set me on a grueling journey through preventative chemotherapy, radiation, hormone therapy, and the removal of my ovaries.
Despite the intense and successful treatment, I remain vigilant with ongoing hormone therapy and biannual Bisphosphonate infusions.
Throughout this battle, Macmillan Cancer Support has been a lifeline. Their unwavering assistance to those affected by cancer is invaluable, providing not just medical guidance but emotional and practical support. They have been there every step of the way, ensuring that no one has to face cancer alone.
In honor of their incredible work and to raise awareness, we are taking on a challenge to support Macmillan Cancer Support. We are walking up snowdon by night.
