Verulam's fundraiser for the Teenage Cancer Trust on behalf of the Oli Mills Foundation

Verulam School is raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust

Team: Mills Match Players

Mills Match · 24 April 2025

We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

In previous years, a highlight on the school calender has been the football match held at Clarence Park in memory of former pupil Oli Mills, who tragically passed away from cancer while attending Verulam sixth form. In Oli's honour, his brother Eddie, established the Oli Mills Foundation, which raises money for the Teenage Cancer Trust and has so far raised over £500,000. 2025 marks the 20th Anniversary of the charity.

The Mills Match was traditionally played between staff and students, with the entire school attending on the last day of term to support this great cause. However, as times have changed, the Mills Match has evolved, and just as the Champions League format changed this year, the Mills Match is too. We are excited to announce that the Mills Match is returning in a new format for 2025!

The event will take place at Clarence Park on Thursday, April 24th, with doors opening at at 4:30 PM. We would love to have as many members of the Verulam community as possible supporting the event.

The new Mills Match format will include three matches:

• 5:00 PM – Year 10 vs Year 11

• 5:30 PM – Current Staff vs Mills Foundation 11

• 6.00 PM – Year 12 vs Year 13
