On 19th October, I am going to be running the Great South Run, almost a year to the day after being diagnosed with breast cancer. I had to have major surgery in early December, which then started my breast reconstruction journey.

Just after diagnosis, when I was struggling to come to terms with it and with the stress of deciding what surgery to have, I was lucky enough to attend a 'Show and tell' event run by Restore, where some amazing ladies showed the results of their surgery and talked about their experiences. I went into the room feeling anxious and overwhelmed and came out so much more positive, confident I was make the right decision and knowing I could cope with what was to come.

Now, I have joined Restore as a model and continue to gain from being part of such a mutually supportive, inspirational and positive group of people.

I am hoping to raise some money to help this brilliant Charity to continue it's amazing work - helping women going through breast cancer and breast reconstruction.
