I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021 and not only did I have to deal with this devastating news in the middle of a pandemic, I was also faced with multiple decisions regarding my treatment. Thanks to the wonderful work of Restore, I was able to make informed choices regarding my reconstruction following a mastectomy.

Restore helped me understand the various pros and cons of the different surgeries, and I was able to speak to women who had gone through something similar.

I'm pleased to say that I've been given the all clear now for 3 years and finished all my reconstruction surgery (I'm very happy with the results 😉).

I now volunteer as a 'Show & Tell' model for Restore in the hope that my experience can help others.

Restore is a charity run by volunteers but they do need funds to help keep their good work going through awareness, information and events.

On June 30th I will be taking part in The Northumbrian. This is middle distance triathlon consisting of a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and 13.1 mile run (hence 70.3). I totally blame my brother Simon for dragging me into his mid-life crisis 🤣 and together we will be travelling to the Kielder Forest and Waterside to compete.
