My London Marathon for Restart Rugby

Victoria Brock is raising money for Restart

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

Restart is the official charity of The Rugby Players' Association. We provide financial, practical and emotional support to professional rugby players forced to retire through illness or injury.

Story

After recently hanging up my boots as a professional rugby player, I’ve decided to take on a very different kind of challenge - running the London Marathon. As any front‑rower will tell you, props are not exactly engineered for long‑distance running, so this is well outside my comfort zone. But that’s exactly why I’m doing it.

I’m raising money for Restart Rugby, the official charity of the Rugby Players Association. Restart is dedicated to supporting professional players who face serious injury, illness or hardship. Players give everything for club and country, but their lives can change in an instant. When the worst happens, Restart steps in - providing financial, practical and emotional support, helping with medical treatment, rehabilitation and career transition. They also offer vital counselling services for players and their families during their darkest moments.

Having lived the life of a professional player, I know first-hand how fragile a career can be and how important it is to have a safety net when things go wrong. Restart is that safety net.

Your support — whether by donating or simply sharing this page — genuinely means the world. It will help Restart continue their incredible work and ensure players never face these challenges alone.

Thank you so much for getting behind me and this brilliant cause.
