Story
As some of you know we lost Craig over Christmas to suicide. It's been such a tough time for everyone that knew and loved him. It's hit me really hard and I have really struggled to motivate myself to do anything. I felt I needed a focus to get myself going again and to honour his memory, so I have decided to set myself a challenge. I'm going to walk a marathon!! While I'm doing this I would love to raise some money for the charity, "calm" and to hopefully raise awareness for mental health issues. Calm help people who are struggling mentally and for those who feel suicidal (see below how your money can help) It's still such a taboo subject and I'm hoping to try and help change this. If you're able to donate anything I would be really grateful, but if you can't please share my post 🙏 you never know who it might reach or help. I'm sure we all know somebody who's struggled or struggling and probably people you think are ok, but deep down are not! If anyone wants to come along and cheer me on that would be great too! I will post nearer the date the times and venue, but it's looking like it might be a few laps of Grafham water. Thank you ❤
EDIT - this event will now definitely take place on the 5th October 2024 and will be at Grafham Water. Its 9 miles round so I will do 3 circuits (actually 27 miles!) I'm going to start at 7.30am and will hopefully be finished around 4.30pm. Feel free to come along to cheer me on!
EDIT - I can't believe i smashed my target in 2 weeks. I have now upped it! Let's see if we can get to £700 for this amazing charity. Thank you to everyone who has donated and shared my page already ❤
We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We’ve got loads of tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones.
£12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.
