Story
On 26 May 2023 I was told I had very early breast cancer after my first mammogram. To hear those words is devastating. But sadly I am not on my own as every day 153 people are diagnosed with breast cancer. But I am one of the lucky ones, it was caught and treated early. So to mark the fact I’m still here one year later, and to say a huge thank you to the mammographers, radiologists, consultants, surgeons and nurses who took care of me I will be taking on the Great Manchester 10km on the very day I was told I had breast cancer one year later for Prevent Breast Cancer. Whatever you can donate will be amazing and will get us that bit closer to preventing breast cancer for future generations
Predict. Prevent. Protect. You could call it our mantra. As the only UK charity entirely dedicated to the prediction and prevention of breast cancer, we’re committed to freeing the world from the disease altogether. Unlike many cancer charities, we’re focused on preventing, rather than curing. Promoting early diagnosis, screening and lifestyle changes, we believe we can stop the problem before it starts. Being situated at the only breast cancer prevention centre in the UK, we’re right at the front-line in the fight against the disease.
