Story
In April 2025, my husband Tom was diagnosed with a grade 4 Astrocytoma and has undergone surgery and 6 weeks chemotherapy and radiotherapy. He is now part of a clinical trial taking vorasidenib alongside adjuvant chemotherapy for 1 year.
He is desperate to run the marathon, and I want to be with him every step of the way! The race will be between his 9th and 10th round of chemotherapy - he is an absolute superhuman and I'm so proud of him. Running a marathon won't be easy for me, but it's another way I can continue to support Tom on this journey.
One in three people in the UK knows someone affected by a brain tumour. This disease is indiscriminate; it can affect anyone at any age. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer yet just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease since records began in 2002.
Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. It is the only national charity focused on finding a cure for all types of brain tumours. Help fund the fight. Together we will find a cure.
