Vicky's fundraiser for Retina UK

Hopefully to Seaview 2023 · 11 June 2023 ·
Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) is a disorder that affects the retina - the light sensitive lining at the back of the eye. The cells that make up the retina deteriorate and the eye loses it's ability to transmit pictures to the brain. It is caused by flaws in various genes. The charity, RP Fighting Blindness, provides support for people affected by RP and funds a research programme that aims to identify the causes of the disease and potential treatments encompassing cutting-edge projects at several research centres across the UK.
One of my closest friends has RP and has completely lost his sight. I would love for him to be able to see his children and grandchildren, the beautiful place that he lives, his friends who support this worthwhile cause and of course his amazing wife, who has been his eyes and supported him through thick and thin for so many years.
On 10th June 2018 I will be walking for one mile blindfolded with a guide. I will experience what it is like to be blind for just one mile. Imagine being blind all day every day and not being able to see your family or the wonderful world in which we live.
Please help us to raise money by giving to this amazing charity that receives no funding from our government. Please help those with RP to see again. Every penny counts.
