Story
So after vowing to never do the GNR EVER after 2016!! Here I am 🫠 Turns out 8 year is the amount of recovery time you need!
As you are all aware I lost my dad in October last year down to something that isn't very much heard of, Antiphospholipid Syndrome which is an autoimmune disorder that causes abnormal blood clots to form. Even the staff looking after him didn't really have alot of knowledge about what he had and unfortunately he passed away from catastrophic events at the age of 60. It's been really rough especially with him not getting to meet Arthur but I'm slowly getting there.
So in memory of my dad I'm looking at doing three events starting at the end of this year and next year to raise awareness of APD and raise money for APD charity that solely depend on fundraising and donations since 2021, they don't receive any government funding.
The Boxing Day/ New Year's Day dip
The Great North Run 2024
Blaydon Race 2024
Both races are provisional of if I get a place, if I don't then I'm just going to run the equivalent of both races on the same date as the events.
Everyone that knows me knows I basically hate physical exercise and a certified salad dodger but this is something important to me and it's also going to help with my mental health. I appreciate any donation.
Now to play eye of the tiger on a loop to motivate me 🤦♀️😂
