Those that know me, will already know why this incredible charity is so close to my heart. For those who have stumbled across this page out of curiosity - let me explain. A Gift to Lift was created 10 years ago by a friend of mine, Alex, when she herself was battling blood cancer. She started making headbands from her hospital bed to pass the time; going on to sell them to raise money so she could gift a fellow patient a 'lift' and share some positivity.

Sadly, Alex lost her battle with blood cancer, but during her last days she handpicked a team of special people to carry on A Gift to Lift and continue what she had so selflessly started.

I couldn’t be prouder to now be a part of that team who relentlessly strive to achieve all of the dreams Alex wasn’t able to fulfil herself.

Now, A Gift to Lift provides wishes to patients who are going through blood cancer treatment and donates to Blood Cancer UK, to enable research into the disease with the aim of hopefully one day, finding a cure.

In 2022, we fulfilled Alex's final wish of buying a holiday home in Norfolk where we send families to have some well-deserved quality time together - memories of which Alex's friends and family now hold very dear to their heart.

In a bid to raise some more money for A Gift To Lift, I will be cycling, swimming and running from the Eiffel Tower to the Blackpool tower - a little over 800km in just 7 days.
