This is my fundraising page for Evelina Children's hospital, in memory of my daughter, Isla, who passed away five years ago on the 9th November 2019.

I'm raising funds for Evelina, the hospital who diagnosed and treated Isla during her short life of twenty-three months. They were invaluable in providing us with crucial support and guidance in adjusting to and managing Isla's life-limiting and life-threatening condition. Isla was just a week old when she was diagnosed with a very rare condition, Glutaric Acidemia, Type II. The condition required a relentless regime of care including three hourly feeds, sometimes hourly, numerous medications and frequent periods of hospitalisation. Along with our tireless dedication and with the expertise of the metabolic doctors, nurses and dieticians, we were fortunate enough to see Isla develop, get to know her and make the most of her time with us.

Isla was a resilient warrior, discerning, reserved, and had a wicked sense of humour. She lit up when happy; her presence was both magical and magnetic. She was so deeply loved. Her light continues to shine on in both her siblings, her memorial tree and in the things we do in memory of her.

As my tribute to Isla, I'll be doing 23 memory runs, one for every month of her life, over a five month period to mark the 5th anniversary of her passing, including a half marathon in September in Surrey. I'll be running in places we went with her and I will share details along the way. Any support you can give would be hugely appreciated. Thank you!
